How to Support Your Favorite Physics and Astronomy Department

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at JMU relies on your support to maintain and grow our department. This happens through gifts to support our students through scholarships and students and faculty through other accounts. A list of the existing accounts is given here.

Dr. Don Chodrow Memorial Scholarship This scholarship honors the Dr. Chodrow and the
tradition of excellence he fostered in our department
by supporting outstanding junior and senior physics majors.
To ensure this scholarship is available to all our students in the future, the endowment
needs to raise at least $25,000 by 2017. If Dr. Chodrow made a difference in your
life, please consider a contribution in his honor.

Physics Electronics Supplies Helps provide electronics equipment and supplies

Physics General Fund Supports all student and faculty activities:
banquets, travel, lab supplies, etc.

John C. Wells Planetarium Supports all planetarium activities:
students, programming, maintenance, etc.
It is easy to make a donation to any of these accounts to support our program. Simply point your browser to the university on-line giving page. Here you will find information on making nearly any kind of gift you choose.

If you decide to make a donation, you can do this now using the university's secure website.

Being sure that your on-line donation goes to the account of your choice is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply:

  1. Choose "Other" in the pull-down list at "My gift will support" and enter the foundation account number and name from the above table into the "Other or Additional Gift Information" box.
  2. Enter the desired amount
  3. Enter your payment information.

That's all there is to supporting you favorite Physics and Astronomy Department!

No matter how you decide to make your donation, be sure to include the foundation account number and name. This will ensure that your contribution does what you want it to do.
